marco:
(via marc) This is ingenious and a little scary. Normally, Javascript doesn’t have access to your browser’s history URLs. But Aza Raskin found a way: How does SocialHistory.js know? By using a cute information leak introduced by CSS. The browser colors visited links differently than non-visited links. All you have to do is load up a whole bunch of URLs for the most popular social...

jackieheartsb: the best way to find muxtapes.
Muxtape is a service that allows you to upload a mix “tape” that can be streamed by anyone. It seemed like a really cool idea to me, but I never really got the point for the casual listener like myself. It was too difficult to find tapes that I was likely to enjoy. Muxtape Stubmler fixes that. Now I understand Muxtape.

This is the only webcomic I’ve ever really gotten into. I can’t sing xkcd/Randall’s praises loudly enough. If you can understand it (read: “if you’re a big enough geek”) it’s really hysterical. (via azspot)

Stalking your friends while they're in mid-air →
A friend of mine is a non-commercial pilot, and recently flew a Cessna into a local airport on his way back home. Thanks to this website, I can track his journey back home, just like you can with the big commercial jets. All I needed was his tail number.
Even as a software engineer, I’m constantly amazed by technology.

(via tylerriewer) Weezer’s new Pork and Beans music video incorporates lots of YouTube viral video stars. Very Internet People-esque. I tried to embed this, but apparently embedding has been disabled for this video. STUPID. Who made that call? Why would you ever want that? Why refuse free publicity?
I’m not the biggest Weezer fan, but this video is awesome. Plus, they will...

I disabled comments on Marco.org tonight, and here’s why. I don’t need anything from you to get value from my writing. My purpose is fulfilled even if nobody ever reads it. Bonus: why reblogging doesn’t suffer from the same problems as comments.
I concur that comments are a cesspool. Further, I think that reblogging does exactly what Marco asserts—it forces ownership,...

I think Jay Leno said it best—since advertising drives American TV, an American Top Gear can’t be as honest nor awesome as the BBC Version.

I’m not quite sure what to make of this. Verizon Wireless generally operates under a walled garden, whereas Linux is the antithesis of that.

Commenter 1: I've never included random crap like that in my code... even in college when I was pulling all nighters. Why on earth would I want to have to reference the ParisHilton class?
Commenter 2: That class will show its privates to just about anyone who asks!
Commenter 3: The problem is that the class has to use its inheritance to get what it wants.
