That took entirely too long. Great URL, though.
If FAIL had a sound, I think this would be it.
How to get Safari 4 and GrowlMail to cooperate →
I have a strange fascination with my beard. I’m so in love with it.

growlmail hijacked mail.app - goodbye growlmail Same thing happened to me shortly after Safari 4 install. Bug report listed WebKit-related exception. I think it’s related.
Note to Self
To find the manual entry for the parameter -prune for the command find, the Google search terms “man find -prune” is not an advisable way to get the information you need.
Signs
Anytime I hear the MacBook’s fans kick into jet fighter mode, I know one of two things is almost definitely happening:
I’m on a site that uses Flash
VMWare Fusion’s Unity mode (specifically VMwareUser.exe) is acting up again

Hulu Blocks Boxee →
The ads are still in Hulu videos on Boxee, so it’s difficult to appreciate the reasoning behind this move, other than to stunt the growth of apps like Boxee while Hulu’s content providers play catch up.
This is so annoying, and yet further proof that content providers just don’t get it. This is not the way to get people to watch things on Hulu. This is the way to get...
NBC Direct Streaming HD →
Good: NBC allows streaming of recent shows in HD
Not good: Via ad-supported peer-to-peer software
Bad: Windows only.

Don't be my Valentine →
What do I want? How about men and women loving, caring and sharing the other 364 days a year? February 14 isn’t the only time to send flowers to your woman (ladies, we wouldn’t mind getting a surprise delivery as well!). How about dropping her a flower arrangement on May 14? And on that card you need to write, “Just because…”

AppleScript ftmfw
So I just wrote two AppleScripts, one to run when I get to work and one to run before I leave.
When I arrive:
Turn off AirPort
Enable Synergy
Start Adium
Connect to Yahoo (which I use exclusively for work)
Set my other networks away messages
Turn on my rear-view mirror
When I leave:
Turn on AirPort
Disable Synergy
Quit Adium
Turn off the rear-view mirror
While my time...

Programmers are lazy; AppleScript to the rescue!
During the workday I generally live on three IM networks: AIM, GMail Chat/Jabber, and Yahoo. My work contacts are nearly entirely on Yahoo.
I’m still a new-enough Mac user that I think it’s cool to have the song that I’m listening to shown on my available message, which is easy thanks to Adium. However, even though I extremely rarely listen to objectionable or inappropriate...
Lost my keys
peroty:
They are nowhere to be found.
I fear they are in my car’s trunk.
Along with enough electronics and computers to double the value of my car.
Don’t steal my car… Projector is in there too. CaseyLiss, no ideas.
Damnit I was out to dinner!!! I missed my golden opportunity!!! hahaha
Top Gear USA 'canned,' viewers 'just don't get... →
Good interview with Jeremy and Richard of Top Gear discussing, among other things, why there won’t be a Top Gear America.

Hackintoshes Possibly More Popular than Linux →
As determined by a particular analytics company’s reports of OS version “Mac OS X (no version specified)” eclipsing “Linux”. Theory goes that only Hackintoshes would not report a version number.

A Game of Hope - This is a video version of the story I posted a couple of weeks ago. Truly inspiring!
I had reblogged Jason’s previous post; this one deserves the same treatment. Very neat video with the Awww-o-meter reaching all new highs.
