Dave Matthews Band - Scenes from Big Whiskey
Having recently heard their new album, I can tell you this is, in my opinion, a good album. As I’ve stated before, I am a lifelong Dave Matthews Band fan, and I am completely stoked for their new album to come out this coming Tuesday.
Also be sure to catch them on Hulu/FUSE tomorrow for their simulcast concert, if you’re interested.

I found this article about the ice used to make drinks in bars bizarrely fascinating.
Agreed; this was quite interesting.

Family First

On a quick flyby run to my local CVS for essentials such as a milk and toilet paper, a woman talking loudly on her cell phone behind me had no problem sharing with the class that her father was struck by a car late this afternoon and was life flighted to a local hospital in downtown KC, yet she was in CVS getting a 12 pack of Diet Coke.

The not-oft-noticed downfall of hybrid cars →
The nickel for the battery has to come from somewhere. Canada, usually. It has to be shipped to Japan, not on a sailing boat, I presume. And then it must be converted, not in a tree house, into a battery, and then that battery must be transported, not on an ox cart, to the Insight production plant in Suzuka. And then the finished car has to be shipped, not by Thor Heyerdahl, to Britain, where...

On AT&T banning SlingPlayer from iPhone →
AT&T itself has repeatedly credited the iPhone for driving up its [average revenue per user] and wireless revenues for the last few quarters. In a sense, AT&T seems to be telling its most lucrative customers, “Thank you for paying us lots of money to use our network—just don’t actually use it too much, mmkay?”
Female Coworker: I'm going to go back to my Katie Perry now.
Me: Wait... is that the "I Kissed a Girl" girl?
Female Coworker: Yeah! Like I told you, she's my idol!!!
Me: ...
Female Coworker: Wait! Not like that!
Irony
My prior post wherein I lamented about the appearance of Tumblarity on the Dashboard has increased by tumblarity from 4 to 21. In the span of an hour and a half.
With the exception of just a few games, I haven’t taken video gaming seriously in probably 10 years. However, every week I’m consistently amused by the rapid-fire reviews at Zero Punctuation. They’re terribly crude but fantastically funny. Even if you’re not a gamer.

Nagging Question Answered: Is a Netflix envelope... →
So there you have it. Next time you send something back to a company in a postage-paid envelope by taking it to the post office, be sure to drop it in the METERED mailbox, not the STAMPED mailbox. They won’t hate your guts if you put it in the wrong box, but it’s just the right thing to do.
I always wondered that. Now I know.
Thinner Phones Start Here?
With all the talk of the hopefully-pending iPhone 3.0 announcement at WWDC, no one has come up with any ideas of revolutionary changes to the iPhone. Most people have said it will be evolutionary.
I don’t think they’re wrong, but something did occur to me, when I read Marco’s thoughts on it. Marco said:
But I don’t believe that the iPhone 3G’s size is the upper bound. I...
