There’s nothing like a Virginia Tech home football game. I miss it.
Lose-Lose
I get the feeling that AT&T is going to be screwed by today’s MMS activation for the iPhone:
If there are any issues, this will be the 95th nail in AT&T’s proverbial coffin.
If there aren’t many/any issues, everyone will be upset for having had to wait so long.
Not a good position to be in.

This is unconfirmed and based on unofficial sources, but apparently it’s because of disappointing Pre sales. That’s perfectly reasonable. But the article (the original is actually here, but it’s unreadable) also cites this from their unnamed source of “people close to the discussions”:
Another snag is that Verizon wants VCast, its applications and mobile...

This is to fight anorexia by clearly stating that the unnaturally thin woman on the magazine really is unnaturally thin.
I don’t know what it’s like to be a woman, but even the most confident women I know have huge problems with their bodies. When some of my extremely skinny female friends start whining about how fat they are, I can’t help but wonder how they can possibly...
Reasons Real Men Drive Stick →
Cars that shift themselves will often hold the wrong gear, or shift up at the worst possible time, resulting in a car that treats the gas pedal as a suggestion box — which it then promptly ignores.

Different Approaches
Most applications in Snow Leopard run in 64-bit mode. Occasionally, some, such as System Preferences, start in 64-bit and have to restart in 32-bit for compatibility. Apple has clearly positioned 64-bit as the new norm, and 32-bit as a legacy implementation.
On Windows, 64-bit applications are labeled as such. For example, the icon for Internet Explorer is labeled Internet Explorer (64-bit). ...
Recipe for [Clipboard] Disaster
On my Mac, I currently have VMWare Fusion running a Windows VM. In that Windows VM, I have two simultaneous Remote Desktop connections to other machines. Quite often, I have quite a few more than that.
Theoretically, all of those clipboards should be synchronized. This synchronization typically does work, much to my amazement.

Seven shower heads
topherchris:
I don’t know about you, but when I’m a guest in someone’s domicile for the first time and I come upon a shower with seven (7) shower heads, well, I just have to partake.
Such were the circumstances at Marco and Tiff’s place that led me to take a shower there this evening.
My review: Imagine a washing machine made for humans. That’s what it is. It provides a thorough cleaning,...

On the need for iPhone Apps →
From Gruber:
And for browsing pictures from friends, I’m still not sure it’s a better overall experience than the iPhone-optimized m.flickr.com web site.
This is something I’ve noticed as well. Even though I follow college football and the NFL during the fall, I’ve never seen the point in ESPN’s app. It’s just not that much better than the mobile site. This is...
