Sometimes the FiOS gods smile upon me, and give me more speed than I pay for.  According to the FCC’s Broadband Test, that just happened.  The above should read 25000 & 15000.  Nice.

The above translates to ~3.7 mibibytes/sec download, and ~2.4 mibibytes/sec upload.  For those of you who aren’t total dorks, that’s 3.7 MB & 2.4 MB.  Sweet.

Surprising Secrets of the Cheapskates Next Door -

How can some people live not only within their means, but substantially below their means — even when their incomes are often less than the national average? And here’s the biggest question of all: How can some of those same people insist that they’re happier — joyous, really — because of their thrift and frugality?

Clearly a pitch for the book, but still an interesting and quick read. The missus and I try really hard to live by this mentality, but my love for electronics (especially Apple products) makes it difficult.
