My Desktop.
I departed from my old theme of Aston Martins simply because this wallpaper was too good to resist.
I’ve also been forcing myself to keep my dock hidden, off the left-hand side of the screen. I don’t particularly care for it, because I can never tell if an IM is waiting for me, or if there is something in my inbox, or if there is something in NetNewsWire waiting for me.
However, it’s for all those same reasons that I also like it—it’s much easier to concentrate and I find myself less distracted. I also like the extra screen real estate. Much of this has been inspired by all the desktops that whiz by on my dashboard courtesy of Minimal Mac.
We’ll see how long it lasts, but I’m trying as best I can to hold out.
I have to say, I quite like having nothing but DateLine and my Incoming folder on my desktop. My Incoming folder is simply my “to be filed” bucket, and I try to make sure things don’t live there more than a week.
Mac users, do you keep your dock hidden? If so, on which side?
