Opentape makes RIAA feel stupid
So the RIAA, in their endless wisdom, has decided to take down Muxtape, a site which streamed music uploaded by users, and provided convenient links to buy the music being streamed from Amazon.
Now, thanks to the RIAA’s shutdown, Opentape has been released, which allows the same streaming, and provides links for users to download the music being streamed. Further, Opentape is designed to be run on anyone’s web server.
Thus, they’ve gone from a centralized service with links to pay them, to a decentralized application installer with no links to pay them. Way to go. Are they ever going to learn? Ugh.
